Coping with the fact that you or a loved one has cancer is difficult, and we want to be there for you every step of the way. Our team of highly skilled and experienced professionals strives to not only provide the highest standard of treatment, but are committed to instilling hope into the lives of our patients through compassionate and personalized care.

Our staff is uniquely trained and highly skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and compassionate service to each patient. Our staff consists of team members with specialized training and multiple certifications related to cancer treatment, and each one of our team members has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care.

Commitment to caring goes beyond the work setting, and you will often see Atlanta Cancer Care staff members participating in Relay for Life, Race for the Cure or other outside fundraising events for cancer support and research agencies. Many of our staff is recognized as being at the top of their field.

We strive to stay up-to-date of the latest advancements in the management and care of all types of cancer, and regularly attend continuing education courses throughout the year. We promise to speak candidly with you about your treatment with us and are always available to answer any questions you may have.

Cara R. Abramson, APRN-BC

Nurse Practitioner

Cara R. Abramson has been an ANCC Nationally Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner for 20 +years, her primary field and passion being Oncology. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama and her Masters of Science in Nursing at University of South Florida. She is an inductee into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is married with two wonderful sons.


Darla Balas, NP-C

Nurse Practitioner

Darla Balas graduated from the Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions at Georgia State University. She obtained a Master of Science in Nursing and is a Sigma Theta Tau honor society inductee. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She obtained her bachelor of science in nursing at the Texas A&M Health Science Center in Bryan, Texas. She works in our Lake Spivey office with Dr. Gurinderjit Sidhu and Sam Stoddard, NP-C.

In her free time, she listens to podcasts, such as the award-winning, Atlanta-based "Stuff You Should Know" series. She also loves family time with her husband and 10 year old Australian Shepherd, Candy.


Joy Broyles, MPH, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Joy is a Board Certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County | Malcolm X College Physician Assistant Program. Prior to PA school she earned her undergraduate degree in biology and a Master of Public Health at Emory University. Joy has worked and published medical journals in brain and spinal cord injury for behavioral science research. She was also a clinician in pain management before joining ACC. Joy enjoys practicing with Dr. Tamim in the Decatur location.

During her free time, she likes shopping, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.


Barbara Burk, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Barbara Burk PA-C is an honor graduate of North Georgia College & State University with a degree in biology and Medical College of Georgia with a degree in Physician Assistant. She is certified through the NCCPA. She has practiced in the fields of Oncology/Hematology, Gastroenterology, and Neurology with an emphasis in Multiple Sclerosis. She has been an active member, and is incoming President, of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. She is dedicated to her profession and patients. For fun she enjoys activities including hiking, traveling, drumming, and dancing.


Shelly Lloyd, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Shelly is a graduate of the Mercer University Physician Assistant Program in Atlanta. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. She worked as a physician assistant in hepatology prior to her time with Dr. Kelly May at the Atlanta Cancer Care Northside Atlanta Campus. She enjoys tennis, reading and exploring Atlanta with her husband.


Kelly Miller, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Kelly graduated with honors from the Physician Assistant Program at South University in Savannah, GA. Prior to PA school, she earned her undergraduate degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition at Clemson University. Kelly worked in the fields of Primary Care and Pulmonary -Critical Care before she joined the ACC team. She works with Dr. Simpson in both the Decatur and Lake Spivey locations. Kelly is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

In her spare time, Kelly enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her husband and French bulldog.


Jessica Jennings Naunas, PA-C

Physician Assistant Perimeter / Alpharetta

Jessica is a board certified physician assistant and a graduate of South University with Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She is currently a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and Association of Physician Assistants in Oncology.  She works alongside Dr. Colleen Austin in the care of her patients.


Christina Olson, NP-C

Nurse Practitioner

Christina is an ANCC board certified nurse practitioner. She is a graduate of the Concordia University Nurse Practitioner program in Milwaukee, WI. Prior to joining ACC she practiced as a certified medical-surgical nurse educator with a pulmonary focus. Christina has a passion for working with the geriatric population, and believes providing care for oncology patients is a privilege. She practices with Dr. Sreekanth Reddy at the ACC Cumming office. Outside of the clinic Christina enjoys being active outdoors, taking in the arts, volunteering and traveling.


Lisa Shah, PA-C

Physicians Assistant / Conyers

Lisa Shah grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She then went on to receive her Master of Physician Assistant degree at the Medical College of Georgia. Lisa joined the Atlanta Cancer Care family in January 2012 and finds great satisfaction in working in the field of hematology and oncology.

During her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, venturing into the world of arts and crafts, and spending time with friends and family.


Amy Sickles, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Amy is an honor graduate from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. After graduating, she worked for the United States Army as a civilian Physician Assistant at Fort Gordon, GA. In 2008, she returned home to northeast Georgia where she began working with the Atlanta Cancer Care team. Outside the office, Amy enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, volunteering and playing with her rescue dogs, KT and Zoe.


Rochele H. Spires, MHS, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Rochele grew up in the Northeast – New York and New Jersey; and did her undergraduate studies at Boston University and the University of Massachusetts. In 2005, she completed the Duke University Physician Assistant Program and graduated with a Master's degree in Health Science and Physician Assistant studies. Prior to attending PA school, she worked as a CNA for one of the nation's top cancer research hospitals, in Boston, Massachusetts. Her passion has always been to serve in the field of oncology. After working in Psychiatry and Radiation Oncology in North Carolina, she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2010 to continue working in Radiation Oncology. In pursuit of her passion for working in the field of Oncology, she transitioned to Hematology/Oncology by joining Dr. Silpa Reddy and Atlanta Cancer Care in March 2013.

She is a board certified Physician Assistant, a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a member of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. In her free time she enjoys coaching youth recreational cheerleading, exercising, and international traveling.


Samantha Stoddard, NP-C

Nurse Practitioner

Samantha Stoddard is a 2003 graduate of The Byrdine F. Lewis School of Nursing and Health Professions at Georgia State University. She has a Master of Science Degree in Nursing. Her area of specialty is Family Nurse Practitioner. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Samantha has over 20 years of oncology nursing experience. She practices with Dr. Sidhu cohesively.

She prefers to be called "Sam". She enjoys family time with her husband and three children.


Susan Almeida, NP-C

Nurse Practitioner

Susan is an honor graduate of University of Alabama Birmingham as a Adult Geriatric/ Critical Care Nurse Practitioner and is board ceritified by the AACN. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau honor soceity. Orginally from Rhode Island, she obtained her undergraduate degree at University of Rhode Island. She served as a naval officer in the US Navy Nurse Corps and was deployed aboard to USHS COMFORT. Prior to joining Dr. Sreekanth Reddy at the Cumming office, Susan worked in Pulmonology and Critical Care medicine. She has 20 years nursing experience in critical care and oncology. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. In her free time, Susan enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, four children, and 2 German Shepherds.


Julia Vega, NP-C

Julia completed her undergraduate degree at Purdue University and received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Indiana University where she was an American Cancer Society Scholar. She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, is a Sigma Theta Tau honor society inductee, and is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society. She works with Dr. Sreekanth Reddy at The Tower and Alpharetta offices.

In her free time, Julia enjoys spending time with her husband and five children, watching and attending football games, working on projects around her house and being active.


Meg Zeringue, PA-C

Physician Assistant / Conyers  

Meg Zeringue was born and raised in south Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate degree at LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and completed her Physician Assistant graduate degree at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. She joined Dr. Carter and Atlanta Cancer Care in January of 2010 and is dedicated to serving patients in an effort to better the quality of healthcare in oncology.  She currently lives in Atlanta and can be found enjoying the outdoors, hiking and fishing, as well as painting and charcoal drawing.
