Brittany Tigner, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a well-rounded background in direct social work practice and specialized experience supporting patients and families in oncology, palliative care, hospice, and acute care settings. At Atlanta Cancer Care, Brittany provides psychosocial assessments, brief supportive counseling, crisis intervention, distress screening follow-up, resource navigation, and education to oncology patients and their families. She collaborates with oncologists, nurses, advanced practice providers, financial advocates, navigation, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to help address emotional, practical, and financial concerns that may arise throughout cancer care.

Brittany is committed to providing compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care. Her clinical approach is rooted in meeting patients where they are, helping patients and caregivers process difficult information, and connecting them with meaningful resources to reduce barriers to care. She has experience supporting individuals and families through complex medical needs, care transitions, behavioral health concerns, caregiver stress, grief, end-of-life decision making, financial hardship, and community resource needs.

Prior to joining Atlanta Cancer Care, Brittany served as an Oncology, Hematology, and Palliative Care Social Worker at Grady Cancer Center, where she supported patients and families experiencing complex medical, emotional, and psychosocial needs. Her professional background also includes hospice and palliative care social work, hospital-based care coordination, adult behavioral health, child welfare, and social services leadership. In addition to her clinical work, Brittany is pursuing a Doctor of Social Work degree at the University at Buffalo, with interests in oncology social work, program development, and patient-centered care. She is also actively involved in the Georgia Social Work Oncology Group, where she serves on the Board of Directors as Co-Vice President.
