Clinical trials provide an opportunity to participate in the latest research being done to identify new cancer treatments. Atlanta Cancer Care participates in clinical trials which use chemotherapy drugs, and/or other drugs which affect cancer cells. Participation is voluntary, and eligibility is determined by specific criteria. The medical team will carefully consider each patient's potential for enrollment in a clinical trial. Patients are encouraged to let their physician know if they are interested in participating in a clinical trial.

Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist (RPh), an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN), and Clinical Research Coordinators, several clinical trials are under way at four of Atlanta Cancer Care's locations. In addition, each of our locations may participate in other clinical trials administered through hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and other research entities.

Atlanta Cancer Care uses a state-of-the-art system to identify and monitor patients participating in clinical trials. The following is a brief listing of the clinical trials being conducted by Atlanta Cancer Care at the Tower (Perimeter), Roswell, Cumming, Stockbridge, and Decatur locations.
